Sade has confirmed a March 4 TV performance at Germany's ECHO Music Awards.

The R&B act, led by singer Sade Adu, will perform the title track of its new studio set "Soldier of Love" (RCA/Sony Music) in front of an expected audience of 3,500 at the ceremony, which takes place at the Berlin Fairground and will be broadcast live on German TV station ARD.

"Soldier of Love" is released worldwide Feb. 8 with its U.S. bow coming a day later and forms the band's first collection of new material since 2000's "Lover's Rock". That sold 3.9 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The announcement confirming Sade's live appearance was made by the German Phonographic Academy, the cultural institute of the German Federal Music Industry Association (BVMI), when unveiling its nominees for the 19th annual ECHO awards.

International artists up for ECHO awards include Bruce Springsteen, David Guetta, Mark Knopfler and Robbie Williams, who are all nominated in the male international rock/pop artist category.

Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston and Pink will be vying for honors in the female international rock/pop category, while A-Ha, Black Eyed Peas, Depeche Mode, Razorlight and U2 are all nominated in the international rock/pop group category.

As previously reported, this year's ECHO Awards returns to it's 2007 home of the Berlin Fairground following last year's event at Berlin's O2 World Arena, which took place in front of an audience of 10,000 and was criticized for poor organization (Billboard.biz, Nov. 19).

The 2010 awards show is produced by Berlin-based production company MME and will be hosted by Sabine Heinrich and Matthias Opdenhövel.
