Some of Argentina’s top musical artists, including Gustavo Cerati, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Gustavo Santaolalla and Andres Calamaro, gathered March 13 to perform a massive free concert to help their Chilean neighbors.

An initiative of Argentine singer Palito Ortega, the show, dubbed “Argentina Abraza a Chile” (Argentina Hugs Chile) took place at the crosstreets of two major avenues in Buenos Aires and drew over 50,000, according to organizers. Admittance to the show was free, but fans were asked to bring donations and supplies for victims of Chile’s quake.

According to published reports, more than 36 tons of food and supplies were collected at four drop-off sites and were being sent to Chile in three trucks with help from non-profit agency Red Solidaria.

The show began at 4:30 p.m. and ended with a performance by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs more than four hours later.
