After a nearly two-year hiatus, veteran radio personality Renán Almendarez Coello, better known as El Cucuy de la Mañana, has returned to the airwaves on Albuquerque, N.M.'s KKNS "La Ley" 95.9 FM.

Almendarez, formerly a nationally syndicated Spanish-language radio host, left his morning show at Los Angeles' La Raza (KLAX, 97.9 FM) in 2008.

Almendarez' new show, "El Cucuy de la Mañana," launched today on El Camino Communications' KKNS 95.9 FM and 1310 AM, and streamed live at laleynewmexico.com and cucuy.com.

Almendarez co-owns the station, which ranked fifth among Spanish-language outlets in the market for persons 12+, according to Arbitron's winter 2010 diary ratings.
