The Eagles are swooping in for an Australian arena tour this December.

Frontier Touring Company has secured the services of the giant American band for a series of shows beginning Dec. 2 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, and visits Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne.

The Eagles - Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit - have done the rounds in Australia with Michael Gudinski's Frontier Touring on numerous occasions. And they've done some serious business together.

Back in November 2004, the band played five sellouts at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, drawing 60,379 fans and grossed $10.3 million, according to Billboard Boxscore. A three-date sellout at Melbourne's Flinders Park in 1995 drew 39,981 fans and grossed $2.5 million.

Platinum, gold, silver and bronze ticketing categories will be available for the new tour, and will go on sale June 23 to Frontier members while the general on-sale will start June 28.
