One of the reasons radio still dominates music listening time is because of it’s ubiquity in the automobile. But Internet radio outlets are starting to gain foothold in the car, and the latest to do so is German startup Aupeo.

The company struck a deal to include its Pandora-like service in new versions of the Mini automobile. Aupeo provides both curated playlists and allows users to create customized radio stations based on seed songs. It focuses on integrating the service into devices, such as mobile phones, TVs and computers. This is its first car deal.

The service comes as an option feature for an additional 250-euros ($320) and is only available in Europe. However it requires an iPhone and a special Mini-branded iPhone app to connect the car to the Internet. Aupeo is also creating four exclusive curated playlists for Mini users. (VentureBeat)
