Multi-million selling Dutch violinist Andre Rieu has postponed his concerts in the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand because of illness. He will resume the tour on Nov. 18 at Belgium's Antwerp Sportpaleis.

The sold-out tour was due to begin last night (Sept. 22) at London's O2 Arena. Rieu has been suffering from a viral infection of the vestibular nerve, which has left him unable to carry out his tour commitments. Commenting from his home in Maastricht, Rieu said he was "heartbroken" not to be able to perform.

Rieu has postponed six U.K./Irish arena shows and a further 12 Australia/New Zealand shows in October. The dates will be rescheduled.

The violinist's own company, Andre Rieu Productions, typically books his shows in many markets, without the use of a local promoter.
