Time Warner Cable has launched Alcanza la Fama (Reach Fame) a music talent contest where the winner will get to appear on Time Warner spots and will also get their own music video, produced by an expert in the field.

The contest, a partnership with the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts, is Time Warner’s first corporate program coinciding with Hispanic Heritage Month (October).

To enter the contest, acts must visit Time Warner’s “Mi Cultura” Facebook page, like it (for every “Like” $1 will be donated to the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts), and then, they can submit a video showcasing their interpretation of the song “Es Tu Manera” in any style or genre.

Winners will be chosen Nov. 19 based on fan votes and with input from actors Jimmy Smits and Esai Morales—co-founders of the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts.

Currently, Alcanza La Fama is being promoted with spots that feature up and coming singer/songwriter Karen Rodríguez, who will also appear in the upcoming Machete Tour dates, which Time Warner Cable is also sponsoring.
