Sony VP of global account management Sean Rosenberg has left the company. An e-mail sent to friends and contacts late Friday announced the move, and a followup e-mail early Monday pointed to his next venture.

Rosenberg will assume the position of Managing Director of the U.S. for mobile app development firm Grapple on Nov. 8. The UK company works with major brands to help build out their mobile strategy and applications, and is just now expanding operations domestically. In addition to building apps, the company also handles all digital distribution and deployment responsibilities

While the move comes on the heels of a modest round of layoffs within Sony, Rosenberg’s departure was unrelated. Rosenberg previously served as VP of mobile marketing, sales and business development at Sony’s RCA/Jive label group, and was an associate director for digital business and Sony BMG.
