Vevo, the popular music video site created in conjunction with three of the big four labels -- Sony, Universal and EMI -- will reportedly launch in the U.K. in 2011, according to a story in today's Telegraph.

The story quotes David Kohl, Vevo's EVP of sales and customer relations, who told Media Week that, "Vevo is currently recruiting for sales, content and marketing staff and hopes to have a UK office of 25 to 35 people within a few months."

In another story in Marketing magazine, however, the launch date for the music video site is reported to be in April. The report cites Karen Blackett of Media .com, which hosted a Vevo pre-launch event in London last night featuring Duran Duran, as "backing" an April launch.

When reached for comment by, Vevo would only say that "Vevo is working hard on a U.K. lanch plan but nothing to confirm regarding a launch date at this time."

Vevo, which is also co-owned by the Abu Dhabi Media Company in partnership Google, has 60 million monthly unique users in the U.S. and ranks third in unique video views behind Google and Yahoo! according to the latest ComScore stats.
