The Collective management agency continues to expand its music division with the signing of the Counting Crows and Godsmack, Billboard.biz has learned exclusively.
In addition to the two multi-platinum rock groups, the three-year-old Collective Music Group also represents such artists as Linkin Park, Alanis Morissette, Slash, Big Boi and Enrique Iglesias.
Home as well to producers and songwriters, including David Hodges and Gavin Brown, the division is headed by Jordan Berliant, who reports to the Collective CEO Michael Green.
The Beverly Hills, Calif.-based management/production company was established in 2005.
Godsmack most recently claimed its sixth No. 1 on Active Rock with "Cryin' Like a Bitch," the first single from the group's fifth studio album, "The Oracle." The Universal Republic project has sold 452,000 since its release last May, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Godsmack is set to headline the 93X Fest in Minneapolis/St. Paul on May 28.
The Counting Crows' last project was 2008's "Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings" on Geffen. The double album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and old 344,000. No longer with Geffen, the band is currently working on a new album.
