Mana Announces Global Trek In Support of 'Drama y Luz'

Mana roars back onto Billboard's Nielsen BDS-based Hot Latin Songs radio airplay chart, as "Lluvia Al Corazon" blasts in at No. 1. The track is just the ninth to arrive at the apex in the chart's nearly 25-year history.

The song also soars in atop the Latin Pop Airplay survey. All charts will be refreshed Thursday (March 24) on Billboard.biz.

"Lluvia Al Corazon" marks the quartet's sixth No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs and eighth leader on Latin Pop Airplay. The song also opens at No. 4 on Tropical Airplay.

The track introduces Mana's first studio album in five years, "Drama y Luz," due April 12. The band, which will participate in an exclusive Q&A at the 2011 Billboard Latin Music Conference and Awards next month, has notched five No. 1s on Top Latin Albums, dating to its first, "Suenos Liquidos," in 1997, and had sold 5 million albums in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Mana's last studio set, "Amar Es Combatir," has sold 644,000 copies. Its 2007 Amar Es Combatir tour grossed $35 million, according to Billboard Boxscore, setting the record for the highest-grossing North American tour by a Latin act since Boxscore began tracking data in 1991.

"[Mana is] crisis-proof," Warner Music Latin American Chairperson Inigo Zabala told Billboard in the March 12 issue. "It's a situation unique in this marketplace."

"Lluvia Al Corazon," the last song recorded for the new album, surges onto Hot Latin Songs with 13.2 million audience impressions on 72 stations after its release to radio last Monday (March 14). (WSKQ/New York was the first U.S. station to play the song, having previewed it with a spin March 12).

Here is a look at the select nine songs to debut at No. 1 since the Hot Latin Songs chart premiered the week of Oct. 4 1986. Mana and Enrique Iglesias are the only acts to launch at the summit with more than one song:
