Fresh off the heels of an expansion into the UK, online music video hub Vevo is now expanding its executive team.
The company added former Epic Records exec. Doug McVehil as senior VP of music, talent & content operations; and Fuse's Scott Reich as VP of original content & programming. McVehil will report to Vevo GM Fred Santarpia, and Reich will report to McVehil.
Both are charged with expanding Vevo's lineup of exclusive and original programming. Examples of Vevo's current original programs include the ASK:REPLY, where fans submit video questions to Facebook and Twitter and artists post their replies; VEVO Go Shows, which feature "impromptu" performances with various artists; VEVO24s, which follows a day in the life of an artist, Celebrity Playlists and VEVO Area Codes.
Vevo's also been on a big concert push, angling to be the exclusive source of live performances such as The National and the Fifa World Cup Kick-Off Celebration. It's Live on Letterman series with CBS has streamed some 25 different performances from the show.
