Pitchfork Music Festival Heads to Paris

According to a report in Rolling Stone, the new album from Bon Iver, this week's Billboard cover star, was accidentally leaked by iTunes when the service put the album's first single on sale earlier this week. The album's official release date is June 21.

Reps for iTunes, Bon Iver, and Bon Iver's label had not responded to Billboard.biz's request for comment at press time.

According to the report, "it appears as though someone at the company accidentally put the entirety of Bon Iver's new album on sale a la carte when the disc's first single 'Calgary' was made available for purchase on Tuesday." Apple quickly fixed the error, but you know how that goes …

In this weeks' Billboard, Bon Iver singer/songwriter Justin Vernon said of the album, "This is the record I wanted to make my whole life. Lyrically, it's an extension of [his debut] 'For Emma.' It's like, what happens when you leave that place? You don't necessarily arrive somewhere new right away."
