The American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) announced the results of their 2011 Board of Directors elections this morning, as voted by the organization's label membership.
The organization said in a statement that its membership has more than doubled in size over the past six years, and consequently its current board is expanding from 9 to 11 seats with the induction of five new members. This year, the organization had its largest-ever pool of 18 nominees running for election.
A2IM also welcomed three new members of the President's Advisory Committee, appointed by President Rich Bengloff to assist and lend expertise to organization.
Newly elected A2IM Board of Directors:
-Priya Dewan (US Label Manager, Warp Records)
-Tor Hansen (co-owner, Yep Roc Records)
-Bruce Iglauer (Founder/CEO, Alligator Records)
-Martin Mills (Founder/CEO, Beggars Group)
-Victor Zaraya (COO, Razor & Tie)
Newly appointed A2IM President's Advisory Committee members:
-Andrew Kautz (GM, Big Machine Records)
-Jim Selby (CEO, Naxos USA)
-Denny Stilwell (Mack Avenue Records)
The new board's term will begin on July 4, 2011 and will officially be introduced during the organization's 6th Anniversary Indie Week in NYC June 21-23.
The remainder of the organization's board (all in the midst of three-year terms) is: Concord Music Group President Glen Barros; Sub Pop VP Business Affairs Eric Brown; tinyOGRE Entertainment COO Jim Cooperman; Epitaph General Manager Dave Hansen; Kill Rock Stars President Portia Sabin; Tommy Boy CEO/Founder Tom Silverman.
The organization also thanked outgoing board members Dan Hoffman (EVP, Razor & Tie) and Molly Neuman (co-owner, Lookout! Records) for their time, energy, dedication, and support - they are leaving their posts due to by-law term limits.
