Music technology and information firm Gracenote has named Stephen White as its new president.
Former president Craig Palmer quietly left the company back in May. White has been with the company since 2001, most recently serving as senior VP of product and content management. Prior to Gracenote, White was VP of development for streaming music service Echo.com.
"It is an honor to take the leadership role at Gracenote, a company that I have had the pleasure of helping expand and mature for more than a decade," White said in a statement. "As digital entertainment converges and evolves at lightning speed, Gracenote is well positioned to continue providing innovative technologies that define the consumer experience for years to come. Our next phase of growth offers tremendous opportunity to further expand into new areas to serve our customers, and I look forward to taking on this challenge."
Gracenote was acquired by Sony Corp. in 2008. It creates various music identification, metadata organization, and lyrics database products.
