Rihanna Still Reigns Hot 100, But Taylor Swift's 'Movie' Debuts in Top 10

The debut of Taylor Swift's video for her single "Sparks Fly" and a bevy of Teen Choice Awards wins for the singer push her up the Social 50 tally this week. The country/pop superstar zooms 19-10 following "Sparks'" arrival on Aug. 11 and her TCA haul on Aug. 7. The clip has earned more than 400,000 views while during the tracking week, she gained 241,000 new Facebook fans and 136,000 new Twitter followers.

Billboard's Social 50 chart ranks the most active artists on the world's leading social networking sites -- YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike -- using a formula blending weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.

Anticipation for the latest Evanescence's "What You Want," the lead single from its new album, due Oct. 11, climaxed on Aug. 9. That day, MTV live-streamed the band's performance of the track and it also went on sale with digital retailers. All of this adds up to a re-entrance on the Social 50 chart at No. 12. On Evanescence's RootMusic player -- in Facebook -- the single has earned more than 100,000 plays, whereas its MySpace play count is hovering around 10,000.

To promote the single, the group has partnered with SoundTracking and GetGlue. Fans that indentify an Evanescence song using the SoundTracking app and share it to Twitter (using the hashtag #Evcomeback) enter themselves to win an album from the band's catalog. Secondly, if fans check in to Evanescence using GetGlue, they unlock an exclusive sticker.

During the tracking week, Evanescence gained 110,000 Facebook fans and 5,600 Twitter followers.

Christina Grimmie leaps back up the chart, prancing 23-15, with the release of her latest cover. This time, Grimmie partnered with singer Noah Guthrie, paying tribute to the late Michael Jackson (9-7) with a duet of his song "Billie Jean." Since being uploaded to YouTube on Aug. 6, the song has gained achieved 1 million views, assisting to boast her profile views -- where the video is featured -- from 260,000 to 291,000 week-to-week and pull in 22,000 new channel subscribers. Grimmie also had a decent week on Facebook, where she jumped from nearly 15,000 fans last week to 17,000 this week.

In promotion of his U.S. tour, Deadmau5 uploaded live footage to YouTube on Aug. 8, showcasing a set from his "Live as Earl's Court" DVD, out now. So far, the video has been viewed nearly 56,000 times, aiding in a burst of 55,000 Facebook fans and 16,500 Twitter followers.

Already, eight of his 34 U.S. shows are sold out, hinting at why the Mau5 easily climbed back up the tally‹23-15.

Lastly, Boyce Avenue charges 32-23, thanks to a video debut for their single "Every Breath" on Aug. 9. So far, the video has surpassed 342,000 views. Time will tell how it performs against the covers the group is famous for. In total, Boyce Avenue grew their base by 31,000 fans this week.

Back in the top 10, Justin Bieber (No. 1), Rihanna (No. 2), Shakira (No. 4), Lady Gaga (No. 5), and Katy Perry (No. 6) hold their respective positions. Meanwhile, Eminem (8-7), and Selena Gomez (10-8) jump, while Akon falls down 9-3.
