Chicago-based original music house Comma--whose music has been heard in spots for iPhone, McDonald's and Nike--threw its second annual block party for the Los Angeles ad community earlier this week (Aug. 16). Co-hosted by boutique ad agency Standard Time and edit houses NO6 and Nomad, the party also doubled as a showcase for up-and-coming acts Darwin Deez and French Horn Rebellion. As a special surprise for partiers, who included Media Arts Lab music director David Taylor, music director at Media Arts Lab and TBWA\Chiat\Day producer Jane Krull, the inimitable Jody Watley belted out two of her hits with the Rebellion: "Lookin' for a New Love" and "Don't You Want Me."
