Backbeat: RIAA Welcomes Former Chairman & CEO Mitch Bainwol's Successor, Cary Sherman

Tuesday night (Sept. 13), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) held an event to send off chairman and CEO of eight years Mitch Bainwol. The "You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello" event also welcomed his successor, Cary Sherman, at the company's Washington, D.C. headquarters.

Cary Sherman Named RIAA Chairman & CEO

Bainwol left RIAA to become CEO of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, a move that was confirmed last month. Sherman has served as RIAA president since 2001, after joining the organization in 1997.
