Mexican star Pepe Aguilar stopped briefly in Miami as part of the whirlwind promotion of his new album, Negociaré con La Pena, out on Venemusic. Aguilar, who is also up for a Latin Grammy, did the circuit of national television shows, including Despierta América, Bailando con las Estrellas and Al Punto con Jorge Ramos. Aguilar's EP is the first album out as part of his new deal with Venemusic, which will include a series of albums released in quick succession. Although Negociare con La Pena is a set of new material, the next Aguilar album out on Venemusic will be a compilation.

Aguilar also found time to eat Cuban food-a must-do when he goes to Miami-and stopped for lunch with Billboard at Las Culebrinas in Coconut Grove.
Aguilar, an avid fan of Twitter and Facebook who actively works all social sites, spoke enthusiastically about the changes social media have caused in music promotion. However, he said, "In the end, it's all about songs. No one can challenge that."
