12-Year Old Maddi Jane Makes Social 50 Chart Splash

12-year old Maddi Jane -- who has been lighting up YouTube with covers and Adele and Jessie J -- returns to the Billboard Social 50 chart this week, re-entering at No. 36. The youngster, who curated a playlist for YouTube Music Tuesdays on Oct. 17, raised her YouTube profile views from 104,000 to 153,000 over the last week. Jane, who has racked up 145 million total upload views on her YouTube channel, also added an additional 26,000 overall fans.

In the introductory video on her channel page, she announced the upcoming arrival of her first original song. It's would seem this has kept her busy lately, as she hasn't uploaded a new cover to YouTube since Aug. 22.

While she is very active on social media, she is also encouraging fans to send her traditional mail, having posted her Nashville P.O. Box as an image on her Facebook.

Back on Sept. 10, she achieved a big milestone for such a young star. She crossed the threshold of 400,000 fans on Facebook-and soon, she'll surpass 500,000 fans mark too.

Billboard's Social 50 chart ranks the most active artists on the world's leading social networking sites -- YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike -- using a formula blending weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.

The debut of the video for the Coldplay's latest single "Paradise" on Oct. 18 -- which appears on the album "Mylo Xyloto" (released Oct. 24) -- helps them dash 28-18 up the tally. The video has since accumulated 4.9 million Vevo plays, helping to boast their overall week-to-week plays from 1.3 million to 6.2 million. The group also saw a spike in their fanbase growth, as they added a total of 181,000 fans during the tracking week.

Eminem breaks into the top ten, moving 21-6, thanks to excitement surrounding a rap cypher he did with fellow Shady Records stars Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse.

On Oct. 12, a behind-the-scenes video of the cypher hit YouTube, where it has since gained 229,000 views. The following day, on Oct. 13, the cypher was uploaded to Vimeo.

The cypher -- sponsored by Sprite and produced in conjunction with the 2011 BET Music Awards -- also featured performances by Busta Rhymes and Ludacris.

In total, Eminem added 550,500 fans this week, up from 374,000 fans added last week. Though, he did fall in his total plays, moving from 17.3 million last week down to 16.4 million this week.

For another week in a row, Justin Bieber makes holding down the No. 1 spot look easy, but he's been working hard. Leading up to the release of his Christmas album "Under The Mistletoe" on Nov. 1, he has been especially active online. On Oct. 18, he released the video for the set's first single "Mistletoe," which has earned more than 19 million Vevo plays. This helped bring his total week-to-week plays up to 34 million.

Outside the tracking week, collaborator and mentor Usher debuted another single from the album, "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts On An Open Fire)," on Ryan Seacrest's syndicated morning radio show on Oct. 24.

Soon after, the song was made available for purchase on iTunes.

Lastly, Justin Timberlake saw a huge 50-36 surge on the chart thanks to the buzz surrounding his latest movie "In Time," which will hit theaters on Oct. 28. There has been no shortage of posts about the movie on the singer and (now mostly) actor's Facebook page, earning him 180,000 new Facebook fans week-to-week.

Back in the top ten, Adele (No. 2) and LMFAO (No. 3) holds their respective positions, while Rihanna and Nicki Minaj both move up a spot (Nos. 4 and 6, respectively). Lady Gaga and Katy Perry leap two spots (10-8 and 11-9); and Shakira and David Guetta slide down the tally (5-4 and 8-10).
