In her role as VP of music and production at Fox Broadcasting, Mamie Coleman oversaw countless clips to promote Fox TV shows like "Glee," "House," "American Idol" and "Bones." But none of those promotions was as big or as down-to the-wire as the one for "The X Factor." Simon Cowell had requested that Fox use Guns N' Roses' version of Paul McCartney and Wings' "Live and Let Die" to promote the show. Publishing was cleared, but as the 11th hour neared, Coleman says, "that clearance was 72 hours straight of work; Simon, the network and me getting no sleep. I knew we would be dealing with Axl Rose but I did not know how involved he would be in the process. We got the deal done . . . and it's one of the best promo campaigns I have ever been involved with." Coleman also was key in connecting Michelle Branch with the launch of "Terra Nova," using tracks by Branch and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to promote "Bones" and enlisting a collection of indie bands-Awolnation and Black Cadillac among them-for "House" ads. With the help of the "Glee" music staff, she oversaw "Glee" seasonal promos featuring Coldplay's "Fix You" and the Go-Go's' "We Got the Beat."
