Nickelback, Michael Buble Post Social 50 Chart Gains

Nickelback returns to Billboard's Social 50 chart at No. 30 -- a new high -- thanks to the debut of a new video and a lot of NFL chatter. The clip for "When We Stand Together" arrived Nov. 23, while the band performed a hotly debated halftime show during the Thanksgiving Day meeting of the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. "When" has been viewed nearly 40 million times, lifting Nickelback's YouTube profile views by 114,000 for the week.

The chart's rankings are determined by activity monitored on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike, using a formula that blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.

As Michael Buble spends his first week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with his new holiday album "Christmas," he also debuts on the Social 50 tally at No. 48. On Nov. 14, the clip for his latest single "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" appeared on YouTube and has since been viewed more than 300,000 times. Then on Nov. 22, a more sentimental video premiered on his YouTube channel, where he shared his favorite Christmas memory from childhood.

15-year old singer Austin Mahone spends his third week on the tally, leaping 37-28 thanks to steady flow of YouTube views and new fans. Week-to-week, he added 13,000 YouTube channel subscribers, 13,000 Twitter followers, and nearly 12,000 Facebook fans. Since joining YouTube on Jan. 14, 2011, he has gained a total of 3.1 million YouTube channel views and received over 40 million total views of his uploaded videos.

During the tracking week, the San Antonio native gained three local press mentions on Nov. 23. TV stations WOAI and FOX 29 both interviewed the artist -- and the Houston Chronicle also profiled him. No new music videos or cover songs emerged during the week, but a video blog, where he wished his fans a happy Thanksgiving and announced that the second round of his concert tickets went on sale, brought in 153,000 YouTube views.

Back in the top ten, Taylor Swift makes a 13-7 drive, thanks to the buzz catalyzed by the release of her latest album "Speak Now: World Tour Live" on Nov. 21. The next day, she uploaded a trailer for the CD/DVD combo that showcases scenes from the tour. It has since been viewed 71,000 times on YouTube.

Given that Swift is up for three People's Choice awards -- Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Country Artist, and Favorite Tour Headliner -- her Facebook page administrator has been encouraging fans to vote. The fans are, of course, excited for her, having liked the status 8,900 times and leaving nearly 800 comments.

Elsewhere in the top 10, Justin Bieber (No. 1), Adele (No. 2), Lady Gaga (No. 3) Katy Perry (No. 6), and LMFAO (No. 9) are non-movers, while Shakira (5-4), Bruno Mars (11-10) rise up the tally. Lastly, Rihanna (4-5) and Katy Perry (7-8) slip just a bit.
