The Collective, an entertainment management and production company, has signed multi-Grammy Award-winning songwriter/producer Desmond Child for worldwide career management.
For nearly 30 years, songwriter/producer Desmond Child has acrewed multiple Grammy awards, 70 Top 40 singles, and songs that have sold over 300 million albums worldwide. Child has collaborated with artists such as Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Ricky Martin, KISS, Kelly Clarkson, Cher and Alice Cooper. After forming the group Desmond Child & Rouge in 1973, his songs caught the ear of KISS guitarist Paul Stanley, who asked Child to co-write a track for the band's 1979 "Dynasty" album. The result was "I Was Made for Loving You," which is still one of the biggest hits in the KISS catalogue.
Child also worked with Bon Jovi on "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Livin' on a Prayer" and "Bad Medicine." Other collaborations include "Dude Looks Like a Lady" and "Crazy" for Aerosmith, "I Hate Myself for Loving You" for Joan Jett, Michael Bolton's "How Can We Be Lovers," and Cher's "Just Like Jesse James" and "We All Sleep Alone."
His solo album "Discipline" (Elektra, 1991), contained his own Top 40 hit, "Love on a Rooftop." In the late '90s, Child returned to his Latin heritage via collaborations with Ricky Martin. The result was the number-one worldwide smash "Livin' La Vida Loca." Child's latest collaboration with Ricky Martin earned him four Latin Grammy nominations.
Most recently, he has been working on projects with Joss Stone, Kelly Clarkson, The Scorpions, Hilary Duff, Meatloaf, Ace Young, and Bon Jovi.
"We could not be more excited for Desmond Child to join our roster of Grammy Award-winning artists, songwriters and producers," The Collective CEO Michael Green said in a statment. "Desmond is one of the music world's most creative hit-makers, and we look forward to working with him to develop even more exciting music across multiple genres in the future."
Child added in the same release: "I'm absolutely thrilled to join Lucas Keller, Michael Green and everyone at The Collective. Their synergistic approach to artist management is not only helping me to optimize my ongoing career in songwriting and music production but also to achieve my life long passion to create live spectaculars, television, books, games and films. It feels great to work with a team whose dedication, energy and 24/7 work ethic matches mine!"
