In a bid to continue growing relationships with brands and advertising agencies, Universal Music Publishing Group in Miami has appointed producer/composer Fernando Rojo to the new post of Senior Director, Creative/New Business Development.
Rojo will report directly to Eddie Fernandez, Sr. VP Universal Music Publishing Latin America.
Rojo is a Grammy-nominated musician who has written and produced songs for Dance/Electronica labels like Ministry of Sound and Renaissance Recordings. In the Latin realm, he's worked with acts like Ana Isabelle and Mexican pop group RBD, for which he wrote several songs when the group was at its height as the top-selling Latin act in the country. Rojo has also written and produced original music for national Hispanic TV and radio campaigns for multiple brands.
In his new role, Rojo will help find and develop songwriters and producers for UMPG Latin America but will also bring in his experience and connections with ad agencies and brands to create new opportunities for UMPG composers.
UMPG's Latin roster currently includes Juanes, Chino y Nacho, Emilio and Gloria Estefan, Kike Santander, Ruben Blades, Ruddy Perez and Gustavo Santaolalla, among many others.
