Andre Stapleton has been named Vice President, Worldwide Business Development, Global Digital Business, Sony Music Entertainment, the company announced in a statement today.
Michael Paull, Executive Vice President of the department, said, "In this role, he will support our U.S. label groups and International business operations by identifying new opportunities and generating global deals to foster additional revenue growth with both new and existing partners. He is based in New York and reports to me.
"I am very happy to have Andre serving in this important function as we further expand and enhance our digital business worldwide. He knows how to collaborate with our key global partners to help forge new revenue streams, and he understands how to work across our labels and global businesses to maximize our opportunities."
Most recently, Andre served as Senior Director of International Digital Business Development, Global Digital Business. Prior to that he held a number of Digital Business Development positions within the company, according to the release. In 2008, he was promoted to Director of International Digital Business Development, based in New York. Previously he worked out of the European Regional Office in London, focusing on Emerging Markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa, first as a manager, and later Senior Manager. Before joining Sony BMG in 2006, he spent four years as a management consultant with Accenture in the UK. He graduated Law School from the University of Glasgow in Scotland, with a Degree in Scots Law in 2000.
