Roc Nation Appoints Dorothy Hui VP of Digital Marketing

Dorothy Hui has been appointed vice president of digital marketing at Roc Nation, it was announced this week. In her new role, she reports to company president Jay Brown.

"At Roc Nation, we are always looking for the most talented individuals to represent us as a company, and a brand," Brown told Billboard.biz. "We feel that Dorothy represents who we are and where we are going. She will provide us with the strong leadership and excellent vision that is required as we expand the role of our digital department."

"In my role, I'll be overseeing digital marketing for our label and artist family, looking for new ways to deliver music and promote our artists," Hui said. "One of my main goals is to seek opportunities to expand and integrate brand partnerships into our digital efforts."

Upcoming projects include The Ting Tings' second LP "Sounds From Nowheresville," out on March 13; Melanie Fiona's new album "The MF Life" on March 20; Santigold's long-awaited second LP "Master of My Make-Believe" on May 1; Rihanna's "Battleship" film, due in May; and the forthcoming album from new artist Rita Ora, which does not yet have a release date. Roc Nation's presence at the upcoming SXSW conference includes performances by J. Cole, Santigold, The Ting Tings, and Wale.

Hui brings a wide spectrum of online and music-business experience to her role. Most recently she was a partner and VP of marketing and sales for tinyOGRE Entertainment, a music company founded on an artist-partnership business model, a role she'd held since March of 2010. She also held positions at Wind-up Records (she formed tinyOGRE, with fellow Wind-up vets Steve Lerner and Jim Cooperman), finishing as VP of Partnership Marketing & Sales; Universal Motown, where she was Director of New Media; and online and marketing posts at TVT Records and Listen.com.
