Insomniac has announced it will launch the inaugural EDMbiz conference to be held in Las Vegas June 5-7 just before Electric Daisy Carnival on June 8-10 as part of what the promotions company is calling "EDC Week." The new conference will be held at The Cosmopolitan.
Jason Bentley, an electronic music multi-hyphenate who is the music director of LA's NPR-based affiliate KCRW will serve as EDMbiz's host. Bentley formerly worked for Quango records and was the music supervisor on "TRON: Legacy" with Daft Punk and "The Matrix" trilogy among many other music-related projects.
Though no specific panelists were mentioned the release says the event will include: "world-renowned electronic artists" as well executives from AM Only, Atlantic Records, Atom Factory/Atom Empire, Burning Man, Citizen Net, Glassnote Records, Insomniac, Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub, Mobile Roadie, Pacha, Red Light Management, Strategic Group, TAO, Topspin Media, Turntable.fm, Twitter, William Morris Endeavor and The Windish Agency.
In a statement Bentley said that, "The EDM lifestyle touches all corners of pop culture today and by creating a smart and effective conference just ahead of the single largest electronic dance music festival in North America, EDMbiz is uniquely positioned to be an essential crossroads for new ideas and opportunities."
