Vevo Launches Certified Award for Videos With 100 Million Views


Vevo's top six certified Video's led by Justin Bieber's "Baby."

Bragging rights in online video now have a name: Certified. On Wednesday Vevo unveiled the Certified Award it will give to those music videos that have reached 100 million views.

The Certified celebration kicks off with programming by Justin Bieber on June 12, Katy Perry on June 25 and Selena Gomez on July 23. Vevo will honor each Certified video with a series of exclusive, artist and original programming relevant to each video.

A page at Vevo will keep a running list of all Certified video and artists. There are already 81 videos to have achieved Certified status, including 8 from both Justin Bieber and Rihanna, 6 from Lady Gaga and 5 from both Black Eyed Peas and Katy Perry.

In all, just 34 of the artists in Vevo's catalog spanning 7,500 artists have reached 100 million views at Vevo.com, Vevo's mobile apps and Vevo's syndication partners such as YouTube, Yahoo! Music, Facebook and AOL.
