The Hollywood Bowl is set to draw Latin music fans this summer when Juanes, Juan Luis Guerra and Rubén Blades perform at Los Angeles Philharmonic Music Director Gustavo Dudamel's Americas & Americans Festival.
The series opens August 14, when Guerra will perform a selection of his songs backed by the charismatic Venezuelan conductor and his orchestra. Juanes will make his first appearance with a full orchestra when he appears with both the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the LA Phil's youth chamber orchestra on August 17 and 18.
The same week, Rubén Blades performs with the The Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra, and Placido Domingo shares a bill with Dudamel and the LA Phil.
The Americas & Americans Festival is the first festival at the Hollywood Bowl -- the LA Phil's summer home -- under Dudamel's direction. In 2010, an inaugural Americas & Americans event at the Walt Disney Concert Hall featured the work of diverse North and South American composers.
Tickets for the August 2012 festival are on sale at hollywoodbowl.com.
