Larry Hernandez, La Original Banda el Limon de Salvador Lizarraga, Los Huracanes del Norte, Conjunto Primavera and Yuridia have joined the line-up of performers at the second edition of the Billboard Mexican Music Awards.
The awards show, broadcasting live from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on Telemundo on Oct. 18, will also include acts Duelo, Roberto Junior y Su Bandeño, Horacio Palencia, Mariachi Sol de Mexico de José Hernandez and Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles as part of the musical guests scheduled to perform.
Previously announced performers include 3BallMTY, Pepe Aguilar, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Ana Barbara, Julion Alvarez y su Norteño Banda and America Sierra.
Presented by State Farm, the Billboard Mexican Music Awards is the only nationally televised awards show that honors regional Mexican music. Finalists and winners of the 33 awards are determined by chart performance as reported in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com during the eligibility period from Aug. 27, 2011 through Aug. 18, 2012.
Each award category is based on album and digital track sales data provided by Nielsen SoundScan and radio airplay monitored by Nielsen BDS.
Los Angeles-born Larry Hernandez, who was raised in Culiacán, Mexico, sings traditional corridos and most recently premiered his reality program, "Larrymania," on cable network mun2. The show captures the singer/songwriter's rise in regional Mexican music as well as his personal life on the road.
La Original Banda El Limón de Salvador Lizárraga is one of the genre's most established bands featuring 17 members. The award-winning act has performed with some of the biggest names of regional Mexican and their popular song "Al Menos" spent 39 weeks on the Billboard charts.
Los Huracanes del Norte this year are celebrating 40 years in the business as one of the most revered musical acts having released more than 60 albums. They have appeared in nearly two dozen films and the band continues to tour often in the U.S. and Mexico.
Founded in Chihuahua, Mexico, Conjunto Primavera has made its mark in norteño music. Since 1978, the award-winning band has been a staple of the genre with more than 50 albums.
At 19, Yuridia has become one of the most recognized faces and voices of Latin pop music. With a strong and commanding voice, the singer continues to delight her fans.
Scheduled to participate in this year's telecast as presenters include TV personalities, actors and acts such as Jencarlos Canela, Ana Maria Polo, Roselyn Sanchez, Lupillo Rivera, Rafael Amaya, Los Horóscopos de Durango, Menchaca, Altera Zero, Azucena Cierco, Eugenio Siller, Litzy, Vanessa Villela and Yarel Ramos.
