Live Nation and its Vector Management group have inked a deal with talent manager and producer Eric Ortner to find new ways to bring together musicians, news makers and journalists
As part of the agreement, Vector Management will form a new imprint with Ortner Management Group called Vector OMG.
“With this new venture, we plan to take the best practices of traditional campaigns in the general entertainment marketplace while creating new revenue opportunities for journalists and other public figures,” said Vector Management co-president Jack Rovner. “Vector OMG has great potential to challenge industry standards and pave the way for future nonconventional opportunities."
Added Vector Management co-president Ken Levitan: “Eric’s background as a news producer and journalist make him keenly aware of the challenges the journalism field faces as the marketplace changes. His expertise in both the private and public sector will be a great asset to current and future clients."
Ortner, a former senior producer for Good Morning America, represents a variety of clients including journalist & Starfish Media Group CEO Soledad O’Brien, NBC News anchor Ann Curry and inventor/marketing pioneer Ron Popeil. His producing credits also include 20/20, NBC News' Today show and additional work for NBC News and CBS News. Ortner also has served in the public sector including roles as an advisor to the leadership of President Barack Obama's 2012 campaign, senior strategist for marketing for California’s healthcare marketplace and co-chair of the Entertainment Advisory Council for the White House.
“The changing media landscape has created a great opportunity for journalists, artists and brands to reach their audiences in new ways while retaining their core credibility,” said Ortner. “Joining with industry legends like Jack, Ken, the Vector Management team and the Live Nation network, creates a great launching pad for new and innovative ways for our clients and partners to amplify their impact and expand their reach. Storytellers and artists deserve for their works to travel further and live long past their day and date. Our goal is to help continue to help evolve the content model and expand their conversations beyond the screen and into new arenas.”
Vector Management is part of Live Nation Entertainment's artist management group Artist Nation.
