PRS for Music's chief executive Steve Porter is leaving the U.K. collecting society on July 17.

In a statement, PRS for Music said its board feels "that as the business faces new challenges, a new set of skills is required to take PRS for Music forward."

The statement added that Porter has "made an invaluable contribution over his 10 years of loyal service to PRS for Music." He joined in 1999 as director of finance, moving on to executive director of finance, then managing director.
