U.K. entertainment retailer has appointed Sarah Hughes as head of online with immediate effect.

Hughes will head a 15-strong online team within the HMV marketing department in what is a newly-expanded role. She will report to HMV marketing director Graham Sim.

Hughes was previously at Amazon in the U.K., where she worked for the past five years in its media department, most recently as head of DVD Buying. Prior to this she worked for media wholesaler Entertainment U.K.
