"American Idol" finalist Bucky Covington has signed with Nashville-based Lyric Street Records, where he joins fellow "AI" alumni Josh Gracin.

Following his time on last year's show, Covington performed with his fellow contestants on a 39-city tour. He then joined GAC's "Country Music Christmas" tour lineup before moving to Nashville.

His first single, "A Different World," has already been serviced to country radio, and his debut album, which was produced by Sawyer Brown frontman Mark Miller, is scheduled for an April 17 release.

Other Nashville-based "AI" alumnus include Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler.
