Yahoo! Music VP of music programming and label relations Jay Frank will join CMT in the newly created role of senior VP of music strategy in August.

Frank, who will report to CMT executive VP/GM Brian Philips, will oversee CMT's music and talent division, and all of the network's on-air and digital music initiatives across multiple platforms, including CMT's films, games, touring and other program enterprise businesses.

While his title and responsibilities are not identical, Frank is essentially replacing former VP of music and talent Chris Parr, who exited the network in April to join Spalding Entertainment as an artist manager.

Frank, who will also serve as the brand liaison to the country music community, will relocate to CMT's Nashville office from Santa Monica, Calif.

At Yahoo!, Frank was responsible for all the company's music programming, working closely with record labels and managers to oversee artist promotions. Prior to joining Yahoo! Music, he was senior music director at the Box Music Network.
