Tim McGraw will host NBC's "Saturday Night Live" on Nov. 22. It will be his first appearance on the show. McGraw is the first country music artist of the new millennium to host the show, according to his publicist. Other country stars who have hosted include Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks.

"I'm looking forward to hosting the show," McGraw said in a prepared statement. "I'm not exactly known for my comedy but then again if you've been to one of my shows you might feel differently."

McGraw appears in the Warner Bros. film "Four Christmases," with Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon and Jon Favreau, which is in theaters on Nov. 26.

McGraw's acting career includes 2004's "Friday Night Lights," 2006's "Flicka" and last year's "The Kingdom."

He also has a new COTY cologne, "McGraw By Tim McGraw," and a children's book, "My Little Girl," in stores now.

His "Greatest Hits, Volume 3" is also out, but McGraw recently made headlines when he publicly expressed disappointment that his label, Curb Records, released the greatest hits package instead of the new studio set he has been working on.
