Season four "American Idol" winner and country superstar Carrie Underwood has recorded a song for the new season of the popular reality show. Her remake of Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home" will play each week as the farewell theme for contestants leaving the show. The song will make its debut on "American Idol" on March 11.

Meanwhile, "Home Sweet Home" will be released as a digital single, found exclusively at iTunes through March 16, and will subsequently be available at online music retailers everywhere.

19 Recordings and Sony Music Nashville will donate a portion of the sales proceeds to the Humane Society of the United States.

"Home Sweet Home" joins a list of such past "Idol" send-off songs as Daniel Powter's "Bad Day," Chris Daughtry's "Home" and Ruben Studdard's version of Kenny Loggins' "Celebrate Me Home."
