The 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards will air April 18 from Las Vegas on CBS, but the ceremony is merely the biggest piece in a massive scheduling puzzle. Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Billy Currington and John Fogerty are among the latest performers announced for the Reba McEntire- hosted event, which will be followed the next day by the taping of a CBS special, “ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn—The Last Rodeo.”

Leading up to the trophy sweepstakes, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert headline two nights of free Fremont Street concerts, Montgomery Gentry hosts the annual benefit motorcycle ride into the desert, and Montgomery Gentry and Randy Houser deliver a USO concert to soldiers at the Nellis Air Force Base.

To capitalize on the available star power, the concert movie “Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D” has its Vegas premiere April 17 with a bevy of fellow country stars on the guest list. Fans outside Nevada can watch the red-carpet proceedings on a live stream at kennychesneymovie.com or ustream.tv/kennychesney3d. Also calling attention to the big night, Blake Shelton and Bomshel guest April 15 on the CBS game show “The Price Is Right.”

Keith Urban, Mel Tillis and the late Marty Robbins and Cindy Walker are just a few of the figures who’ve already been honored with off-camera ACM Awards.
