Kenny Cheseney Reschedules Concert In Advance of Hurricane Irene

The 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be held this Sunday, April 1 with Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton hosting on CBS. This year's categories look to be more competitive than ever. Who has the inside track? We take a look at the four top categories, and give you our thoughts on who might take home the awards!

Single Record of the Year
• "Crazy Girl" -- Eli Young Band
• "Don't You Wanna Stay" -- Jason Aldean With Kelly Clarkson
• "Red Solo Cup" -- Toby Keith
• "Tomorrow" -- Chris Young
• "You And Tequila" -- Kenny Chesney Featuring Grace Potter

Analysis
: We don't know if any of these five had the musical integrity and weight of Kenny Chesney's amazing collaboration with Grace Potter. That being said, we really think it comes down to two ACM veterans here. You don't top the nominations list - as Chesney did this year - for nothing. But, we have a sense that the voters just might give this one to Toby Keith for a song that everybody had an opinion on.

The Award Goes To: "Red Solo Cup"

Female Vocalist of the Year
• Sara Evans
• Miranda Lambert
• Martina McBride
• Taylor Swift
• Carrie Underwood

Analysis: All five have enjoyed strong years, with Evans and McBride having made strong career resurgences over the past twelve months. Underwood has remained very much in the public eye via her duet with Brad Paisley, but has been between albums. So, we think it all comes down to a race between Swift and Lambert. Tough one to predict here, but you gotta pick one, right?

The Award Goes To: Miranda Lambert

Male Vocalist of the Year
• Jason Aldean
• Kenny Chesney
• Brad Paisley
• Blake Shelton
• Chris Young

Analysis: Maybe the toughest award of the night. Paisley and Chesney have both released some of their strongest material over the past year. Aldean has only picked up more momentum with each release, and Chris Young - with five straight number ones in a row - will win this award in time. But, we don't see last year's winner having lost any momentum from last year, and he's probably going to have something to "Drink On" Sunday night!

The Award Goes To
: Blake Shelton

Entertainer of the Year
• Jason Aldean
• Kenny Chesney
• Brad Paisley
• Blake Shelton
• Taylor Swift

Analysis: Five of the biggest stars in the format going up against each other in this one. Much will be made of the fact that Aldean is on an independent label (Broken Bow), and how that might limit his chances. But, the fact that category is fan voted gives him as much of a chance as anyone. We think Blake Shelton deserves consideration for this one, but when you look at the numbers - sales, concert tickets, etc, nobody has them more so than one of these nominees, who continues to represent the genre with as much class as anyone today.

The Award Goes To: Taylor Swift.
