Last Wednesday night, Prospect Park Records dance-pop act, Jessie and the Toy Boys, performed a short, acoustic set for an intimate, invite-only crowd that included members of the press as well as singer Wynter Gordon in the American Express Skybox perched above the tents at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center.

"Hi, everybody, how are you doing?" Jessie said, sliding on top of a stool situated at the front of the room, clad in a tight black dress with a turned down white collar and wearing her blonde hair up. Cocktail waitresses worked the small room offering hors d'oeuvres as Jessie, accompanied by a young man she introduced as "No. 73, aka Mark" (presumably one of the Toy Boys) on guitar, worked her way through songs such as the dance hit, "Push It" from the group's debut LP, "Show Me Your Tan Lines," and "Perfect Shade of Red," which had been a centerpiece of Jessie's set on Britney Spears' Femme Fatale tour earlier this year.

The Jessie and the Toy Boys performance was the only musical performance held at the American Express Skybox at this season's shows. Typically, the plush space, which sits above and between the two main tents at Lincoln Center and offers windows that look down into the shows, is reserved for American Express cardmembers looking to get a bird's eye view of the collections. "The American Express Skybox has become the ultimate location during Fashion Week for cardmembers to watch the best runway shows and meet their favorite designers and celebs," said Jessica Igoe, Vice President of Global Sponsorship Marketing, American Express, via email the day after the performance. "This season we wanted to celebrate personal style and the influence of fashion, and were thrilled to host an intimate evening fusing music and fashion with an acoustic performance by Jessie and the Toy Boys. Jessie's fantastic voice and keen sense of style both on and off the stage made her the perfect fit for such a memorable evening."

"This has been a lot of fun," Jessie said before closing her set with "Push It." "I make electronic dance music. This is the first time I've performed like this."

The next night, the tents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center came down.
