The crowd anxiously awaiting the next act
On Monday (August 5) Fool's Gold Records threw their second annual free Labor Day party. Hidden away in the parking lot of the City Winery Dj's spun all day starting with co-founder of Fool's Gold Nick Catchdubs, followed by their newest recruit Party Supplies, MPC master Araabmuzik, Just Blaze, the Brothers Macklovitch (A-Trak & Dave 1) in matching leather jackets and even surprise set from Parisian Dj Mehdi. This was all followed by Danny Brown, whose recent mixtape XXX made waves online. The headliner was Three 6 Mafia's very own Juicy J. With a bottle of Bombay Sapphire he entertained the crowd with "Bombay Gin Dance", "Stoner's Night" and "Inhale", just to name a few of the anthems heard.
In the meantime, the VIP was full of electro's biggest names like Armand Van Helden and Diplo, to the Ed Banger crew Dj Mehdi, Riton and Pedro Winter. Of course hip-hop was represented by Acion Bronson, Project Plat and Hot 97's Miss Info. Even Todd Moscowitz, CEO of Warner Bros. Records, was spotted on the grounds.
Many of the AM Only agents were hanging around in VIP yesterday, either there to support their signed artists - AraabMuzik, Nick Catchdubs and Party Supplies - or to simply enjoy some good music.
AM Only is a New York based booking agency that represents a large selection of electronic artists including Tiesto (Billboard Cover Story).
Party Supplies is not only the newest member of the Fool's Gold family, but he also just signed with AM Only. Word has it that the agency is making an effort to book more artists of his style - steers away from traditional forms of Djing to recompose entire anthems on the fly on his drum machines - to diversify their roster.
