Pianist Arthur Hanlon filmed his TV special "Encanto del Caribe" (Caribbean Fantasy), which he described as a "convergence of cultures," at the 450-year-old Fort of San Cristobal in Puerto Rico with guests Laura Pausini, Marc Anthony, Natalia Jimenez, Bernie Williams, Cheo Feliciano, Obie Bermudez and Ana Isabel.
The special, produced by SBS Entertainment and JB Group with support from the Puerto Rican government, will air on public television in early 2012. The event, shot live and featuring nearly 50 musicians onstage, marked the first time the Fort of San Cristobal, which is a federal park, opened its doors to TV cameras. "This special illustrates that music isn't divided, and that all artists can perform music from all nations," said Hanlon, who is Irish American but signed to Universal Music Latino, which will release a CD/DVD of Encanto next year.
