Backbeat: SESAC Holiday Party Abuzz with Optimism for 2012

Hundreds of music industry vets attended SESAC's annual holiday celebration at Café La Boheme in West Hollywood.

Attendees included J. J. Cheng, VP of SESAC Latina; Richard Bull, president of the Sixth House; Manuel Prado, national director promotions, Sony Music Latin; and Nestor Rocha, VP of Programming at Entravision.

It is the one time of the year that colleagues in the industry can reflect on the year while looking forward to the future.

Jaika Lara, manager of music affairs of Music Affairs of Telemundo, said that the network had an exciting year that included the successful telenovela "Reina del Sur" starring Kate del Castillo.

Rocha spoke about the annual Reventon Super Estrella concert in October that this year featured the return of Mexican band Caifanes. The radio executive said that he's looking forward to making next year's concert a major must-attend event as well.

Others took time to relax and enjoy the music while networking while noshing on holiday foods. The party-goers were optimistic that 2012 is going to be a bigger year in music.
