It's been cold outside, but inside Club Los Globos in Los Angeles was a warm reception recently, as Galeria Alternativa founder Omar "Boris" Ponce announced that the Latin alternative concert series was celebrating its seventh anniversary.

To commemorate the night he introduced several bands, including The Tender Box, Rifile, The Walrus (Beatles tribute band) and DOPAMINA.

The Tender Box (@thetenderbox), one of the evening's most energetic bands, officially formed in 2005, says drummer Chuck Gil, but most of the band members have known each other since the 1990s when they attended high school together in Los Angeles. When the Tender Box takes to the stage, fans go bonkers.

Influenced by British pop of their generation and '80s bands, the Tender Box is heading back to the recording studio in 2012, and are planning to extend their reach to Mexico with some promotional stops to showcase their music.

Most of the band's songs are in English, but they've also written songs in Spanish. During their Club Los Globos gig they performed "Fuego Lento" and "Techos," among other songs, but it was "Mister Sister" which gave the crowd every reason to rock out with the band and lead singer Joey Medina's impressive vocals.
