The Neon Gold label tour kicked off March 1st with a Chiddy Bang -- all puns intended -- to a sold out Santo's Party house in NYC with Savoir, St. Lucia and The Knocks.

It's no secret that Neon Gold Records, NYC boutique indie-pop label come Columbia imprint, have many tricks up their sleeve. Founders Lizzy Plapinger and Derek Davies (full disclosure: both are friends) have released singles by Passion Pit (the label's first release in 2008), Marina and the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding and Gotye -- to name a few. And now the label is bringing their roster to a city near you with the first-ever Neon Gold Tour.

The Neon Gold tour, brought to you in partnership with the label's monthly NYC club night Popshop ( http://popshopnyc.tumblr.com/), have hosted acts from the NG roster and beyond, including Oh Land, Walk the Moon, Wynter Gordon and Reptar. This tour will feature heavyweights from the label's current roster. "With this tour we wanted to put the Pop Shop on the road with a stacked line up of Neon Gold artists" says Plapinger, "It's a great opportunity for us to showcase Savoir Adore, St Lucia and The Knocks in other cities but also for us to get Neon Gold's name out there."

Although Chiddy Bang will not be on the tour, their Neon Gold family roots run deep. "This song would not have been possible without Neon Gold," Chiddy spat into the mic before sending the crowd of die hard fans into shock and awe with a rare performance of "High," the Big Sean track featuring Chiddy Bang and Wiz Khalifa. The song's genesis started with Neon Gold's Davies who in 2009 sent Chiddy Bang's Xaphoon Jones the Ellie Goulding track "Fighter Plane." Xaphoon then reworked it into "High" and the rest is history and one of many examples of the working friendship struck between the label and Chiddy Bang.

"We first met Chiddy Bang three years ago in Philadelphia, right around the time we released Passion Pit's debut single Sleepyhead/Better Things," explained Davies. "Xaphoon had just sampled MGMT's 'Kids' on what would become their big hit 'Opposite of Adults', and I told him he should mess with Passion Pit and got him the stems for 'Better Things', which a year or so later became the single 'Truth' off their debut mini-album 'The Preview.'" Since then, Xaph and Davies have become close friends regularly trading beats and samples. In fact, Chiddy Bang's new single 'Mind Your Manners" used a sampled of Neon Gold artist Icona Pop's 'Manners.'

Brooklyn's Savoir Adore got the party started on Thursday setting the stage for pop greatness with their adorable synchronized dance moves on tracks like "Loveliest Creature"-- so infectious that the crowd couldn't help but join in. The quintet released their dream-pop opus single "Dreamers" with Neon Gold over the summer and a remix by Chiddy Bang's Xaphoon Jones soon followed.

The party took a turn for the wild when the Knocks took the stage with tandem drumming and go-go dancers " The Knockettes." The duo, Ben "B-roc" Rutner and James "Jpatt" Patterson have also benefitted from a strong working friendship with the label, which in July 2010 released their single "Make it Better." B-Roc's label and production company Heavy Roc, which co-sponsors the monthly Popshop night, are responsible for introducing acts like Alex Winston and St. Lucia to Neon Gold-- the latter of which signed with Neon Gold and are releasing the label's first full length album.
