Nicky Jam and Enrique Iglesias’ monster hit “El Perdon” rules as the most streamed Latin song of the first half of 2016, according to Nielsen Music. The tune collected 51,080,000 combined on-demand audio and video streams in the tracking period of Jan. 1 through June 30, 2016. The song was also the most streamed audio track, with 22,663,000. Meanwhile, the top streamed Latin video was Iglesias’ “Bailando,” with 31,326,000 streams.

“El Perdon” spent 30 weeks at No. 1 on the weekly Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, while “Bailando” holds the record for the most weeks at No. 1, with 41.

The top selling Latin digital song at the mid-year point is Pitbull’s “El Taxi,” with 117,000 downloads. Pitbull also has the No. 7 most popular Latin album overall, as his Dale set earned 40,000 equivalent album units. (Equivalent album units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums [TEA] and streaming equivalent albums [SEA].)

The most popular Latin album of 2016 so far, in terms of total units, is Romeo Santos’ 2014 release Formula: Vol. 2, with 61,000 units earned. The highest selling album, by traditional album sales, is Juan Gabriel’s Los Duo 2, with 28,000 copies sold.

Total Latin album sales fell by 35 percent in the first half of 2016, as compared to the first six months of 2015 (1,823,000 versus 2,799,000). Among all genres of music, overall album consumption (album sales plus TEA and SEA) totaled 279.9 million units for the first six months of 2016 (up 9 percent compared to the 257 million of the first half of 2015). Latin albums represented 5 percent of the 2016 figure.
