Issues, the Atlanta-based metalcore act partially consisting of former members of the band Woe, Is Me, notch their first No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Albums chart (dated June 11) and second leader on Hard Rock Albums, as new album Headspace starts with 18,000 sold, according to Nielsen Music.
The quintet's sophomore effort follows its debut self-titled album, which opened at Nos. 1 and 2 on the Hard Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts, respectively in March 2014. The new release also premieres at No. 4 on Top Rock Albums.
Issues are followed by an alternative rock act making its first appearance on the Top Rock and Alternative Albums charts in almost seven years. Saosin debuts at No. 3 on Alternative Albums and No. 6 on Top Rock Albums with Along the Shadow, its third album (11,000 sold).
The band inks its best peak on Alternative Albums, surpassing 2009's No. 4-peaking In Search of Solid Ground; on Top Rock Albums, the act ties its best placement, first achieved by Solid Ground.
Saosin's new effort is its first with new lead singer Anthony Green (also of Circa Survive). Cove Reber, vocalist on the band's first two albums, departed in 2010.
