Newly promoted Warner Music Nashville chairman/CEO John Esposito was honored and hit-making country star Brett Eldredge performed a rousing set at this morning’s Awards Breakfast for the Music Biz 2016 convention, held in Nashville. Esposito called music the "medicine for our soul" as he accepted the Presidential Award for Outstanding Executive Achievement. North Carolina-based distributor Redeye was honored with the Independent Spirt Award.

The breakfast kicked off with various speeches and presentations by Nashville Mayor Megan Barry, Music Biz president James Donio and YouTube’s Fred Beteille. Eldredge closed the event by performing a set that included "Drunk on Your Love" and "Wanna Be That Song," plus an a cappella version of "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning," the Mann/Hilliard classic made famous by Frank Sinatra.
