Justin Bieber breaks a Billboard Hot 100 record previously held by the Beatles and Drake.

Bieber boasts 17 songs on the Dec. 5 Hot 100, marking the most titles that any artist has placed on the chart in a single week. He bests the 14 each that the Beatles managed on April 11, 1964 and that Drake earned on the March 7 and Oct. 17 tallies this year.

The honor adds to Bieber's already huge week, as new album Purpose debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Here are Justin Bieber's 17 songs on the latest Hot 100 (including 13 debuts, also a one-week record for one artist). Seventeen of the 18 songs on the deluxe edition of Purpose place on the chart, with the new entries driven heavily by streaming, as Bieber released videos for each song on the set):

The Beatles had held the mark for the most songs on the Hot 100 in a single week for more than 50 years, tallying 14 on the April 11, 1964 chart at the height of Beatlemania, led by "Can't Buy Me Love" and "Twist and Shout" at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. (The prior week, the Fab Four had locked up the entire top five, a feat that no artist has since matched.)

This year, Drake has twice totaled 14 Hot 100 concurrent hits, powered by the arrivals of his two 2015 Billboard No. 1 albums, If You're Reading This It's Too Late and What a Time to Be Alive (with Future).

Bieber also joins lofty company by controlling three of the Hot 100's top five (at Nos. 2, 4, and 5): only two other acts have charted at least three songs in the top five at once: the Beatles, for eight weeks in 1964 (again, including the entire top five on April 4, 1964) and 50 Cent, for two weeks in 2005. Bieber and the Beatles are the only acts to earn the honor as a lead artist on all three songs.

The Hot 100, and all Billboard charts, will update tomorrow (Nov. 24) on Billboard.com.
