President, ITV Studios America

@itvstudios, @orlyadelson

After five years as president of dick clark productions—where she oversaw the American Music Awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards, the Golden Globes and other specials—Orly Adelson is moving on to become president of ITV Studios America, where she’ll start in her new post on Jan. 1. At dcp, Adelson helped maintain and expand the iconic music company. She accomplished those feats by integrating social media into its live events and giving stars like Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift a platform for some of their first awards show performances, while increasing ratings. With Adelson as an executive producer, the Academy of Country Music Awards drew more than 15 million viewers in 2013, according to Nielsen. With its acquisitions of Thinkfactory Media, producer of the Emmy Award-winning “Hatfields & McCoys,” and High Noon Entertainment, which produces “Cake Boss” and “Tough Love,” ITV has already made a splash this year. Adelson says her first order of business is “to leverage the prestige and momentum of the company to make it the go-to place for scripted, non-scripted and music-related programming.” —Craig Rosen
